UPSC IAS Prelims Exam Timing 2019
The UPSC IAS civil services prelims exam will be held in two sessions on Sunday, 2nd June 2019. The first session—Paper 1 or General Studies—will be held between 9:30-11:30 am. Paper 2 will access the General Aptitude of the candidates and will start at 2:30 pm and conclude by 4:30 pm. Each paper will be for a duration of 2 hours.
Entry into the examination venue will be closed 10 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the examination, i.e. 9:20 am for the morning exam and 2:20 pm for the afternoon exam.

The questions were well above the difficulty level of the common UPSC IAS aspirants. One important noticeable change which was seen in the paper was the increased number of applied questions. The paper asked a variety of questions and the options made the questions more tricky. The habit of UPSC to play with the mind of the IAS aspirants in not new.
The UPSC Prelims exam for 2019 was held on June 2nd at various centres across India. From 2015 onwards, the merit for Mains exam is decided based on GS Paper 1 alone, since GS Paper 2 has been made qualifying in nature. This raises the competition level every year.

India and World Geography |
In this year s Geography section, UPSC asked more map-based and factual questions. Usually, UPSC asks conceptual based questions from Geography section, but this year it changed the trend drastically.

Indian Polity and Governance |
The major chunk of questions came from Polity section. Majority of the questions asked were concept based, but the root for the questions were current affairs. So the nature of polity questions was current affairs based conceptual questions. |
History, Art & Culture |
Questions from Art and Culture section were less and the questions were simple in nature, but finding the correct answer has made this section difficult since the questions are fact-based, like GI Tags, cultural history questions, etc. In this section, Questions asked from the following topics:-

Environment and Ecology |
Questions from the Environment section were asked based on current affairs. Almost all questions from this section were from the last 1-2 year current affairs issues. For example – conservation agriculture, Sixth Mass Extinction, GM mustard, carbon fertilisation, prosopis juliflora etc.

Economy |
The question asked in this year Prelims exam was from Economy section. This section saw a mix of both conceptual based and current affairs based questions. Someone with good command over the economy subject would have been able to answer questions with less effort, since most of the questions asked from this section were of moderate difficulty. |
UPSC IAS Civil Services Exam Cut off 2019
UPSC IAS Cut off 2019.The cutoff marks are the important aspect in any recruiting process. The UPSC board considers IAS cutoff marks 2019 in short listing the students. The cutoff score is the margin line. If aspirants scored less than the cutoff, then he/she will not eligible for next process or nit get shortlisted. To get selected in the civil service exam aspirants should get more marks than the cutoff. The Cut off marks are compulsory for whole 3 stages.
