Odisha, Sikkim and Mizoram Join ‘One Nation, One Ration Card Scheme
- The Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday announced the inclusion of three more states namely, Odisha, Sikkim and Mizoram in the scheme on ‘Integrated Management of Public Distribution System’ (IM-PDS).
- Under this system nation-wide portability of the benefits under NFSA through “One Nation One Ration Card” plan is implemented to enable the NFSA ration card holders to lift their entitled quota of subsidised foodgrains from any ePoS enabled FPS of their choice anywhere in the country, by using the existing/same ration card after Aadhaar authentication on ePoS device.

Rajnath Singh to Head Committee for Implementation of MSME Loan Scheme
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed a committee headed by Rajnath Singh to resolve any problem in the implementation of the Rs 3 lakh crore collateral-free loan scheme for MSMEs, said MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari.
- In an online interaction with the members of the Pune-based Mahratta Chambers of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), Gadkari asked small businesses to email him directly in case of problems faced by them in securing credit under the scheme.

Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) campaign launched for 1.5 crore Dairy Farmers – Government
- The government has launched a two month special drive, in mission mode, for providing Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) to 1.5 crore dairy farmers belonging to milk unions and milk producing companies, an official statement said on Monday.
- The campaign will run from June 1 to July 31, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying statement said.

- In the latest ranking of global startup ecosystems by Startupblink, India has dropped 6 places to the 23rd spot.
- Bengaluru dropped three places to have the 14th rank in the top cities with best startup ecosystems ranking, while the national capital Delhi climbed three spots to the 15th rank.

Moody’s Downgrades India’s Rating First Time in Over 2 Decades, Says GDP to Shrink by 4% in FY21
- Rating agency Moody’s downgraded India’s foreign currency and local currency long term issuer ratings to Baa3 from Baa2, while maintaining a negative outlook, citing prolonged period of low growth and further deterioration in the government’s fiscal position.
- Moody’s said the negative outlook reflects dominant, mutually-reinforcing, downside risks from deeper stresses in the economy and financial system that could lead to a more severe and prolonged erosion in fiscal strength.

Tata Power completes 51% stake buy in Odisha’s TPCODL for Rs 179 crore
- Tata PowerNSE 7.86 % on Monday said it has completed the acquisition of 51 per cent stake in TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPCODL) for Rs 178.5 crore.
- TPCODL carries out the business of Central Electricity Supply Utility of Odisha (CESU). The acquisition paves the way for taking over the power supply business of five cities in Odisha by Tata Power.

Reserve Bank Approves Lakshmi Vilas Bank CEO’s Extension
- The Reserve Bank of India has approved the extension of tenure for Lakshmi Vilas Bank’s MD and CEO, Subramanian Sundar by six months.
- This is the second extension given to Mr. Sundar who was the MD & CEO (interim) from January 1, 2020 to April 30.

DRDO develops disinfection unit of PPEs and other material called Ultra Swachh
- Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a disinfection unit named Ultra Swachh, as per a release issued by Press Information Bureau (PIB).
- Ultra Swachh is said to disinfect a lot of articles including Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), electronics items, fabrics, etc.
- Ultra Swachh makes use of an advanced oxidative process that includes various barrier disruption approaches using Ozonated Space Technology for the process of disinfection.

- Former International archer turned coach Jayantilal Nanoma was killed in a road mishap when his SUV met with an accident at Varda in Rajasthan’s Dungapur district late.

Jammu & Kashmir – Former Union Minister, Congress Leader P Namgyal Passes Away
- Former Union Minister and three-time Congress MP from Ladakh, P Namgyal, passed away Monday after brief illness in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
- He was 83 and he is survived by his wife and three daughters, sources close to his family said. They said that Namgyal had returned from Delhi nearly a fortnight ago.
